The problem
Roles like this break in two places: briefs that don't survive translation into real tasks, and output that ships without anyone consistently checking it against brand and spec.
What I did
I built the checkpoint. Every asset now runs through QA before delivery, against documented SOPs instead of gut feel. Across ~50 tasks a month, my own read on quality lands around 98%, no formal tracking, just my count.
It held under a real test. One designer routed work straight to the client to skip QA. I let him go and had a replacement sourced, vetted, and onboarded inside 2 weeks. The client never saw a gap.
Why it matters
Anyone can write an SOP. What matters is enforcing it, even when that costs a team member I then have to replace under pressure.
